Bringing the ICVO's world up-to-speed in the Computer age

 

                                                                        Introduction

In the beginning there was the "Pony Express" and the "Covered Wagon" and that alone, got the job done.  But that was a long time ago.  All of this was taking place about 200 years ago, here in the United States.  Not much has changed since then, other than the invention of the internal combustion engine.  Wagons have become motor vehicles.  But men still have to do the labor.  This labor is back-breaking physical work, consisting of heavy lifting of things.  The computer has helped out mankind greatly in recent times.  The ICVO needs to be brought up to speed in this area.  The AICVOA is here to do that.  The AICVOA is being incorporated as a C corporation which practices education and philanthropy.  Right now, the AICVOA needs to build membership, this is our first order of business.

 

 

STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLAN 

 

1.  Mission Statement

The AICVOA is established to provide support and guidance to the Independent Courier Van Operators of the U.S.A.  The AICVOA  is established as an educational and philanthropic organization to advocate and protect for the rights and welfare of the ICVO's here in the Unites States of America.  Creating a foundation of basic rules, for the ICVO-SPPD business sector to build upon and refine.  Creating an important "AICVOA-ICVO Contract" document for defining labor aspects.  Creating communication bridges between Contractors and Sub-Contractors. Giving the ICVO a place to call home.

 

2.  Vision Statement

By December 31, 2015 an organization will have been established as an educational and philanthropic corporation, called the American Independent Courier Van Operator Association or AICVOA.  The Association will have a brick and mortar building as its headquarters.  The association will offer numerous benefits and amenities to its members.  The association will continue to raise funds through the yearly dues paid by its members, and other fund raising events.

 

3.  Goals / Main Purpose

The AICVOA needs to build a brick and mortar structure as it's headquarters.  Legal Representation in matters and related matters may be needed.  Immediate goals goes as follows:

 

Raise Funds for:

1.       Headquarters

2.       Legals on retainer

3.       Infrastructure Development

4.       Upgraded Equipment

5.       Greater Membership

 

Also the AICVOA-ICVO CONTRACT is an important document that continually needs to be updated and revised.  All other inter-organizational documents and declarations will also need to be updated and revised.  And ultimately to have a facility (the first one)  that is able to offer various services that are beneficial and wanted - by and for the ICVO.

 

4.  Strategy

The AICVOA needs to take-in members and form a solid membership organization.  There are about 102,000 ICVO's functioning here in the United States.  They all should join the AICVOA.  There probably are more ICVO's than 102,000 - if you include mini-vans and other "van type" vehicles (9,999 GVW or less),  Van Drivers operating as "Independent Couriers" and that are are treated as "Independent Contractors".  The ICVO is the boss of his SPPD-ICVO Service.  The ICVO owns and operates the [Delivery Vehicle being utilized].  This ICVO-SPPD sector is not "represented" here.  Improvements can start here. 

The AICVOA will create various things to help and improve "quality of life" for the ICVO.  The ICVO world is part of the ICVO-SPPD business sector.  The choices are finite.  When a contractor and a sub-contractor have a working relationship, an agreement which is clearly and definitively spelled out - to the letter, this gives both parties a much greater sense of security.  Because ICVO's are human beings, being secure allows us to worry less.  Therefore productivity is increased.  This increase, no matter how small, is still an increase.  Every nickle and dime saved, contributes to the bottom-line earned.  Finally occurring, are the added profits through better "SPPD Process" organization.  Waste not want not.

 

5.  Specific Action Plan

The following objectives will be initiated as the first step in establishing an Educational and Philanthropic organization, called the AMERICAN INDEPENDENT COURIER VAN OPERATOR ASSOCIATION.
