The CLDA - The Customized Logistics and Delivery Association
The CLDA is an association of Courier Companies that hire Independent Courier Van Operators Owners to perform pick-up and deliveries. Established in 1986, they have become a voice for all couriers. The CLDA is driven by the industry and relate to changing times and the business-sector developments that may occur.
For the Courier Industry as a whole, the CLDA does what it does and performs well. Since the CLDA is driven by the industry, then the questions is: "How does the CLDA relate to the Independent Courier Van Driver Owner Operator ?" The answer is, "As well as the industry can supply !" This means, any representation of ICVO's is dependent on the strength of the voice of the ICVO. Right now their voice is weak at best !
The AICVOA will eventually would hope to be working in concurrence with the CLDA so that the natural-order-of-things is not upset. The change [for the better] will occur from within the courier system. The AICVOA will lead in creating new methodology technologies; the way in upgrading the current standards. Computer hardware and software applications will be an introduced across the sector for starters. Especially to completely upgrade current standards for courier services - and pick-up & delivery record keeping & bookkeeping methods. The future is very hopeful, the future might hold some pleasant surprises for everyone involved in the SPPD Industry. A strengthened friendship is desirable.
