COURIER ANCIENT HISTORY
Welcome to Ancient History. Some say that Courier/Messenger work is one of the oldest professions. Couriers (including Messengers) have been a very important component of the "thinking man". Since the cave man, the art of delivering a message has been part of mankind’s existence. Courier work has left its mark etched into our history and culture. The data presented here is (of or pertaining to many documents) about a Couriers’ Ancient History...
Way back in Olden Times ...
The AICVOA summarizes that, there are many stories in the naked city. Lets start out from the beginning. Some one needed a package moved from one town or village to another. And there it was, the "first delivery" - and there he was (and is), with his mule drawn cart and hand-truck, in hand, ready to perform the delivery. Modern couriers have been around from 1800's, our great country has the Pony Express to thank for this honor, of being an American original pioneer. The motorized vehicle appeared around 1902 - and delivery vehicle's have been improving ever since. Courier Service's have been growing, since about the same time.
There are approx. 8,000 plus courier companies in the USA. There is nothing quite as unique as the Courier Service. Nothing is as remarkable as the Courier Service for transporting a package from here to there. Scotty (from StarTrek) will not be "beaming" you or anything anywhere, anytime soon or in the future. Science Fiction has special effects courtesy of Hollywood. But in the real world, a real human being has to do the "transporting" of a package from one point to another. The human being has to undergo dangerous situations and must be constantly on alert. Current workloads from "any demand source", (contracting or sub-contracting) are extremely demanding on the human aspect. This is a tri-athelon, the Courier is a tri-athelete. The ICVO is really doing the job of 11 people. The human being makes many sacrifices for the Courier Service.
The AICVOA has assembled an interesting and informative group of documents. Rather than submit a book report of the document, you are able to go-to and view the data for yourself. The AICVOA gives a brief description and review of the document, to give the user a general gist of the document.
